About Bill Pusztai

About the Images

The vast majority of the images presented here are naturally lit and minimally retouched. This makes them especially useful to illustrate catalogs, manuals, textbooks, reference works, educational materials, and other applications where a more styled image would not be ideal.

My formal training is in graphic design, specifically publication and type design, so I am always happy to work with editors, designers, and art directors to fulfil their needs. I take professional direction very well.

 About the Photographer

Bill was born in 1965 in a small city in Southern Ontario, Canada. He's been a cook, a baker, a palliative care worker, a literacy instructor, a graphic designer, and a fine artist. He finds writing about himself in the third person bemusing.

He's always been interested in plants, gardens, botanical science, and the history of cultivated fruits and vegetables -  ever since he was a little kid trying to eat the flowers from other people's gardens. Predictably, he learned which flowers not to eat, and later became a vegetarian.

Bill's home base and studio is Vancouver, BC, Canada. He also travels frequently in Canada and the United States.
